Integrated TV, Network, and Phones for a Healthcare Facility

We took over an abandoned low-voltage project and delivered a full integrated system — 16 individually-controlled patient TVs with private headset audio, enterprise WiFi, IP phones, cameras, and a rebuilt DMARC line — all organized in a clean, code-compliant rack.

— THE CHALLENGE

What needed to change

  • An abandoned prior project left a chaotic bundle of unsafe, hanging cables throughout the facility.
  • The facility needed 16 TVs installed in a single treatment room with individual channel control per station and discrete audio via patient headsets.
  • Full IP phone system, enterprise WiFi and wired networking, TV services, surveillance cameras, and a rebuilt DMARC line were all required as part of the same project.
  • The solution had to meet healthcare safety standards, with professional rack mounting and cable management throughout.
— THE SOLUTION

How we solved it

Per-Station TV Control

Leveraged URC (Universal Remote Control) to manage all 16 televisions from one intuitive interface, enabling on/off and channel selection at every patient station.

Curated Content with Patient Headsets

Installed a DIRECTV for Business 12-channel headend and wired patient headsets at every station so patients can listen to their chosen program without cross-channel audio bleed.

Enterprise Networking

Deployed Ubiquiti UniFi for robust wired networking and secure WiFi coverage across the entire patient and staff ecosystem.

Voice and Surveillance

Installed an IP phone system for reliable facility-wide communications and added surveillance cameras to enhance safety and monitoring.

Infrastructure Cleanup

Replaced the hazardous existing cabling with clean, code-compliant routing, rebuilt the line from the building's DMARC, and delivered a dedicated rack with every cable labeled and organized.

— THE RESULTS

What changed

  • Sixteen patient TVs with fully independent control and private audio delivered in a single treatment room.
  • One vendor delivered networking, phones, cameras, TV services, and infrastructure — no coordination between trades.
  • Hazardous cabling replaced with code-compliant routing and a clean, maintainable rack.
  • Scalable infrastructure ready to support additional patient stations, staff devices, and future upgrades.
