— CASE STUDY / BARS & RESTAURANTS

Zero-Latency Sports Across 17 Outdoor TVs

We replaced a fragmented setup of 17 residential streaming devices with a single commercial DIRECTV system, fiber backbone, and one-touch control — eliminating cross-screen latency and consolidating 17 bills into one.

— THE CHALLENGE

What needed to change

  • Seventeen outdoor TVs each ran their own streaming device, creating noticeable latency between screens — one TV could show a touchdown while another was still on the snap.
  • The bar was paying 17 separate residential accounts to access NFL Sunday Ticket, driving up costs and management overhead.
  • The fragmented setup made real-time sports viewing unreliable and complicated staff workflows during games.
— THE SOLUTION

How we solved it

Centralized Video Routing

Deployed a Media Tune 3000 with built-in matrix switching so every display draws from one centralized source with precise, per-screen control.

Fiber Backbone

Ran fiber from the Media Tune 3000 location to every screen, delivering high-bandwidth, low-latency transmission across the outdoor bar.

Commercial DIRECTV Consolidation

Replaced 17 residential streaming accounts with a single DIRECTV Business package — 23 channels, one bill, zero latency, full NFL Sunday Ticket included.

One-Touch Control

Deployed a control system that powers every TV on and off with a single touch and keeps every display in sync with the DIRECTV feed automatically.

DIRECTV Business App

Enabled in-app channel control so staff can change games during breaks without juggling 17 remotes or logging into individual accounts.

— THE RESULTS

What changed

  • All 17 screens synchronized — patrons see the same play at the same moment, everywhere in the bar.
  • Consolidated 17 residential accounts into one DIRECTV Business package, dramatically reducing monthly programming costs.
  • One-touch power and centralized channel management cut the time staff spend managing equipment during game days.
  • Full NFL Sunday Ticket and an expanded sports lineup now available on every display through a single reliable feed.
  • One invoice replaces 17 — simplifying bar accounting and budgeting.
