— CASE STUDY / HOSPITALITY

Outdoor AV Expansion Along Las Olas Ave

— THE CHALLENGE

What needed to change

  • The hotel wanted eight outdoor TVs installed in two zones facing Las Olas Ave — a deck adjacent to the Lions Bar and the Wild Sea restaurant frontage.
  • No existing power supply or satellite feed reached the intended installation zones.
  • One zone featured a hard-coat ceiling, complicating both mounting and cable routing.
  • The solution had to preserve the hotel's exterior aesthetics while delivering reliable, code-compliant outdoor installation.
— THE SOLUTION

How we solved it

Power and Cable Pathways

Engineered a weather-resistant electrical strategy compliant with local code and routed new cabling with minimal disruption to guest areas and building aesthetics.

DIRECTV Distribution Expansion

Assessed the hotel's existing DIRECTV distribution and expanded capacity to support eight additional outdoor displays with consistent channel availability.

Back-to-Back Display Installation

Installed eight 55" commercial displays in a back-to-back configuration at code height to maximize visibility from Las Olas Ave while meeting safety regulations.

Integration and Control

Seamlessly integrated the new displays with the hotel's existing A/V ecosystem and deployed centralized content management for simple staff operation.

— THE RESULTS

What changed

  • Eight outdoor 55" displays installed across two high-visibility zones on Las Olas Ave.
  • Reliable power and satellite provisioning with scalable cabling ready for future expansion.
  • Aesthetic integration preserved — the exterior design reads as intentional, not retrofitted.
  • Centralized control architecture keeps staff management overhead low.
